Time For Rest
The past few weeks have been pretty hectic to say the least. Even if I did try to describe the hardships that I’ve been through doing my dissertation and coursework it’d be difficult to give a full impression of the sheer amount of work that I, and indeed the rest of the people on my course have been going through. Believe me, it’s been incredibely stressful. I even had to turn down a free trial of Guild Wars 2 due to needing to do coursework. That says something, when I turn down the opportunity to play a game, something is wrong. Seriously wrong. In the past few days I’ve had to make 3 prototype websites, which is no mean feat by anyone’s standards, but especially for someone that has actually never properly made a website before. Ahem…err don’t know which 3rd year Internet Computing student that could be! If people terribly want me to I’ll upload them so you can see, but I’m not too keen on the idea as, well they’re not that fancy.
After all this work and finally my last courwork is in, I feel like Frodo lying on the side of Mount Doom after finally carrying the ring all the way from the Shire but is too exhausted to do anything more.
Sam: “Do you remember the outside, Mr. James? It’ll be spring soon. And the orchards will be in blossom. And the birds will be nesting in the hazel thicket. And they’ll be sowing the summer barley in the lower fields… and eating the first of the strawberries with cream. Do you remember the taste of strawberries?”
Me: “No, Sam. I can’t recall the taste of food… nor the sound of water… nor the touch of grass. In fact all I can recall is sitting at my computer for hours on end trying to get rid of this bloody ACW.”
Anyway although all my coursework is done and I think we all deserve a thorough rest before we start revising for our final exam.
Other than being super busy with coursework nothing really noteworthy has happened in the past few weeks, aside from the normal falling asleep on public transport and getting woken up by the good people of Scarborough that know I must be getting off as it’s the last station. In fact I’ve tended to fall asleep at my computer a few times and woken up with the familiar keyboard marks over me. I’m now looking forward to a whole day that I can spend without using a computer at all.
I am however secretly proud that I’ve been accepted into Two Bit Entertainment, a reviewing site. It’ll cater for my strange need to review almost every film that I watch and I’ll probably put some game reviews on there too. I’ve already put a review on there and I’ll be adding more, now I have time. Unfortunately that probably means if I see a film at the Futurist, then my opinions of the cinema itself will probably have to be kept seperate from the review!
